Makes

8 Portions

Ingredients

For the Cake:

  • 1 pack vanilla cake mix from Foster Clark’s
  • 3 eggs
  • 275 ml water
  • 80 ml vegetable oil

For the Cream:

  • 1 pack whipped topping mix from Foster Clark’s
  • ½ cup cold milk
  • Fresh strawberry slices
  • Fresh banana slices

For the Chocolate Sauce:

  • 3 Tbsp cocoa powder from Foster Clark’s
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 tsp butter
  • Few drops of vanilla essence from Foster Clark’s

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the vanilla cake mix with the eggs, oil, and water. Beat using an electric mixer on medium-high speed until the mixture is completely smooth.
  2. Pour a portion of the batter into a baking tray lined with parchment paper, spreading it into a thin layer similar in thickness to a Swiss roll.
  3. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 10 minutes, or until the cake is cooked through and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  4. Repeat the same steps to make five thin layers in the same way, and allow all the layers to cool completely.
  5. In another bowl, whip the topping mix with cold milk until you get a thick, creamy consistency.
  6. Spread a thin layer of whipped cream over each cake layer and distribute slices of fresh strawberries and bananas on top. Place the next cake layer over it and repeat the same steps until all the layers are stacked.
  7. Cover the top of the cake with a layer of whipped cream and decorate it with slices of strawberries and bananas as desired.

To prepare the chocolate sauce:

  1. Mix cocoa powder with powdered sugar and water or milk in a small saucepan, stirring well until the cocoa dissolves completely.
  2. Place the mixture over the heat and keep stirring until it starts boiling and thickens. Add the butter and vanilla, stirring quickly until the butter melts.
  3. Remove the sauce from the heat and let it cool slightly before using it to drizzle over the cake or serve it alongside.
