Cinnamon Luqaimat Balls

Golden, crispy Luqaimat balls filled with creamy goodness and coated in cinnamon sugar!

Ingredients

  • 1 pack of Luqaimat mix from Foster Clark’s
  • 1 Tbsp custard powder from Foster Clark’s
  • 1 small cup of yoghurt
  • Warm water (added gradually, about 1 cup)
  • Cream cheese for filling
  • Sugar and cinnamon for coating

For the white sauce:

  • 50g room-temperature butter
  • 100g room-temperature cream cheese
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence from Foster Clark’s
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 pack whipping cream from Foster Clark’s

Blend all ingredients in a food processor or mix with a little liquid milk if the consistency is too thick.

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the Luqaimat mix, yeast, and custard powder. Add yoghurt and knead.
  2. Gradually add warm water until a smooth, cohesive dough forms. Let it rest until it doubles in size.
  3. Shape the dough into small balls, stuff each with a bit of cream cheese, and roll into smooth spheres.
  4. Deep fry in hot oil until they begin to brown, then lower the heat and turn them until evenly golden.
  5. Remove from the oil, coat with the sugar and cinnamon mixture, and toss gently.
  6. Drizzle with the white sauce and caramel as desired.
