Flaky Custard

Light and crispy puff pastry topped with creamy custard and fresh strawberries!

Ingredients

  • 4 sheets puff pastry
  • 2 Tbsp custard powder from Foster Clark’s
  • 500ml milk
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • Strawberries
  • Powdered Sugar

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, combine custard powder with sugar.
  2. Add 6 Tbsp of milk and stir until creamy, then mix the remaining milk.
  3. Transfer to a saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring continuously until it reaches a boil (about 10-15 minutes).
  4. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  5. Meanwhile, place the puff pastry on a baking sheet and poke holes in the centre.
  6. Brush the edges with milk and bake at 180℃ for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Remove from the oven and pipe custard on top.
  8. Garnish with berries and a dusting of powdered sugar.
